Dovrefjell - Fighting musk oxen (Norway)

Although the spectacular head-butting fights mainly occur during the mating season, male muskoxen remain active year-round in maintaining their rank within the herd. These confrontations, sometimes accompanied by impressive roaring and threatening body language, are essential for establishing the social hierarchy. Even outside the breeding season, tensions between rival males persist, often resulting in smaller skirmishes and displays of dominance. I was also able to capture some footage of this competitive behavior.
