Pirang Forest Park (Pirang-Bonto Eco-tourism Community Project) is a small, isolated gallery forest of approximately 64 hectares, surrounded by a variety of habitats, including vast salt flats and mangrove forests. Even in the middle of the day, the tall gallery forest remains relatively cool and peaceful. High up in the trees, we were able to spot the impressive Verreaux’s Eagle-Owl (Bubo lacteus), also known as the Giant Eagle Owl.
