Pirang - Blue-breasted kingfisher This magnificent Blue-breasted Kingfisher is the 10th kingfisher species I’ve managed to photograph in Africa over the years. This medium-sized kingfisher boasts turquoise-blue colors and a fairly long red-black beak. They primarily inhabit mangrove forests or wooded areas mixed with bodies of water. Besides fish, frogs, and large insects, they also eat oil palm nuts. Stefan Cruysberghs
