Kotu - Little bee-eater (The Gambia)

In Gambia, we were also able to spot the little bee-eater (Merops pusillus) several times. It is a stunning bird, measuring only 16 cm in size and weighing between 13 and 19 grams. They primarily feed on bees and wasps, which they repeatedly hit against a hard branch before eating.
