La Selva - Smoky jungle frog (Costa Rica)
The smoky jungle frog (leptodactylus pentadactylus) is a nocturnal large robust frog (18cm) found subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and swamps. They eat other frogs, small lizards, arthropods, eggs of birds, ... We discovered several of them during our night walk in La Selva.
