Glenfinnan Monument The village of Glenfinnan is located on the road between Fort William and Mallaig. This is a very beautiful place where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his banner on August 19, 1745. Many Scottisch clans gathered that day for a final heroic, but ultimately tragic battle against the English. On the banks of the beautiful Loch Shiel stands the 'Lone Highlander' monument in memory of the last Jacobite uprising. Stefan Cruysberghs
