Bayeux (Normandy)
Inspite of the allied bombing raids of 1944 Bayeux has preserved the old historic centre with its medieval structure. Solemnly consecrated on 14 July 1077, in the presence of William, Duke of Normandy and King of England, the cathedral later underwent all kinds of extensions and embellishments from the 13th to the 15th century.
