Bale Mountains - Sanetti Plateau The heart of the Bale Mountains is formed by the Sanetti Plateau. The plateau consists of beautiful, wild highlands at an altitude of 3000 to 4000 meters with spectacular African alpine vegetation. Trees and plants have adapted to the special cold and wet climate. Most plants have become smaller, but the impressive giant lobelia (Lobelia rhynchopetalum) can grow up to five meters high. Stefan Cruysberghs
