Konso - King (Ethiopia)
From Arba Minch we went further south to visit the tribes. Our first stop was the city Karat-Konso with its many villages of the Konso tribe. There are nine clans spread over 30 villages and each village is autonomous and is governed by a council of elders. If there are any major disputes or problems then the Konso-king is there to rescue.
King Kala Gezahegn Weldedawit lives with his family in a small village and we had the opportunity to go visit him and it have an interesting conversation with him. He has studied in the capital city Addis Abeba but after his father's death he returned to his village to become the king of his tribe.
