Penmarch - Phare de Eckmuhl (Brittany)
The Phare d'Eckmühl is an active lighthouse located at the Point Penmarc'h in the Bay of Biscay in Brittany. It is 65m high and one of the tallest lighthouses in the world. The smaller tower in the middle was build in 1835 and in 1892 the new tall lighthouse was constructed with funds of Adélaïde-Louise Davout. The lighthouse was dedicated to the memory of her father, the general Louis Nicolas Davout, who was called 'Prince d'Eckmühl'.
