Tarangire is one of the less well known wild parks, but it does have one of the largest elephant populations in the country. The Serengeti is without doubt the most famous wild park in Africa. It is extensive and consists largely of grassy plains without trees and savannas with locusts. In the afternoon and the early evening you try to sleep a bit. At about 23.00h everyone starts getting dressed warmly to prepare for the last rush to the summit. In the dark a long chain of tourists sets off. And there you are, completely exhausted but enormously glad that you have reached the highest peak in Africa. After this there is still a long descent, first to the Kibo hut and then straight on to the Horombohut.
